Chandler Powell is the boyfriend of famous Aussie Bindi Irwin -daughter of late Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin.

Chandler and his girlfriend of several years have announced they are currently engaged. He popped the question to Bindi on her 21st birthday.
Though we know 21-year-old Bindi doesnt need much introduction, her boyfriend and soon-to-be husband does!

Bindi who was born July 24, 1998 as one of two children of Steve and Terri Irwin was put on the map due to her father’s notoriety as the The Crocodile Hunter -however she’s also made a name for herself as an actress and TV personality. Both Bindi and her younger brother, Robert  Irwin -have followed into his father’s footsteps as conservationists. She was just eight when her father tragically died in 2006.

Now the 21-year-old is on her way to the altar is surely bittersweet not having her father on her side. Check out five facts about her fiance.

#1 He was born in the US

He is a native of Seffner, Florida who was born November 14, 1996; to parents Shannan Powell and Chris Powell -who was once a major figure in the world of wakeboarding. Chris Powell said that he competed at the first World Wakeboarding Association event in 1988. Chandler has one brother, Cameron Powell.

#2 He made a name for himself as a wakeboarder

According to his website, he’s been wakeboarding since the age of 12. Chandler traveld on the World Series circuit making his way on top of the podium in National Championships, North American Championships, and World Championships. In addition to competitions, Chandler also travels for wakeboard clinics, filming wakeboard videos, riding in demos, and judging amateur contests.

#3 He attended college and now lives with the Irwin family

Chandler Powell attended the University of Central Florida where he reportedly majored in marketing. As of 2018, he relocated down to Australia to live with the Irwin family.

#4 He and Bindi have been dating for at least six years

Wakeboarding brought Chandler and Bindi together. While down under for an event in 2013, Chandler popped into the Australia Zoo. “It just so happened that Bindi was giving tours that day,” he told People in 2018. “I’m like, ‘Wow, she is amazing.’ “ The two “hit it off right away,” and he got her email address afterward. They continued to stay in touch, and the rest is history.

#5 Is not clear what he does for a living

While Chandler is no longer pursuing a professional wakeboarding career, he still loves extreme sports. He loves to go diving off of waterfalls, and he’s a surfer. Before he fell in love with the water, Chandler was a skater kid.
