Christopher Backus is the proud husband of Academy Award winning actress, Mira Sorvino –who recently spoke about the harassment she suffered when she was a teen.
Christopher’s wife said during a podcast for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association –that when she was 16, she was gagged while auditioning for a horror movie scene. At the end, the casting director took the gag out of her mouth only to reveal it was a condom.
The 50-year-old star did not name the director, however, Sorvino is one of more than 70 women who have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
Born in NY on September 28, 1967; Mira Katherine Sorvino is a Harvard graduate and the daughter of actor, Paul Sorvino. She began acting in the 80’s and is well known for her work on Mighty Aphrodite, Romy and Michele’s High Scholl Reunion, Like Dandelion Dust, Norma Jean & Marilyn, Human Trafficking among many others. At the time of their 2004 nuptials at the Santa Barbara courthouse –the couple stunned with their age difference, having been born October 30, 1981 –Backus is 14-years her junior. He was 22 at the time of their wedding.

Christopher Backus and Sorvino have welcomed four children together, daughter Mattea Angel (b. November 3, 2004), son Johnny Christopher King (b. May 29, 2006), another son Holden Paul Terry (b. June 22, 2009), and daughter Lucia (b. May 3, 2012).

The California native is the son of Teryl Backus –a retired Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. His father died when Christopher was a child.

Backus, reportedly once had a future as a pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays organization until an injury scuttled his prospects. Backus prospective career with the Toronto Blue Jays ended with a shoulder injury. He was a minor-league pitcher with a 96 mph fastball.
