Louise New Jones

Louise New Jones is the lovely wife of veteran attorney and politician, Doug Jones -best known as a Senator from Alabama.

Louise’s husband was born into a working-class family in Fairfield, a suburb of Birmingham. His father was a steelworker and his mother was a stay-at-home mom.
He said that he developed a love for politics and organizing growing up in Alabama, working on his high school’s student government association during the era of school desegregation.

He went to study government at the University of Alabama. He also volunteered for campaigns and various Democratic grassroots efforts in the state. He then attended Cumberland Law School at Samford University, a private Christian college in Homewood, Alabama. After graduating in 1979, he went to work for Democratic Alabama Senator Howard Heflin.
Jones was an aide to Heflin, who was also a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, from 1979 to 1980.
He then worked as a criminal defense lawyer but always held out hope he would serve his hometown in government one day.
Jones was nominated by Clinton, a Democrat, and confirmed by a Republican-led Senate in 1997 to serve as U.S. Attorney. As a former U.S attorney, Jones successfully prosecuted members of the Ku Klux Klan who bombed a black church in Birmingham in 1963, killing four girls. The Alabama native became famous for the church bombing case.

She told the crowd “He has been driven by his values, and justice and calling of public service,” “I think that it could not be more clear who is the best person to be the next Senator for the state of Alabama”

Since their marriage, they have welcomed three children, Louise New Jones is the proud mother of one daughter Courtney and two sons, Carson and Christopher.
Courtney, is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College. Carson Jones is a graduate of the University of Georgia while Christopher Jones attended Alabama University.
