Richard Blum

Richard Blum is the longtime husband of senior California senator, Dianne Feinstein.

Prior to her election to the Senate, Dianne was elected to the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors and served 2 ½ terms as President of the Board. She became Mayor of San Francisco in November 1978 following the assassination of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk.

Dianne has been married a few times. First in 1956, to Jack Berman, with whom she welcomed daughter Katherine Feinstein Mariano, a judge. She and Berman divorced only three years later.

In 1962 she married second husband, Bertram Feinstein, a neurosurgeon. She was left a widow in 1978. She and current husband, Richard C. Blum have been married since 1980.

The California native holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1958 and an MBA degree in 1959 from the University of California at Berkeley.

#4 He co-founded Blum Capital Partners

Richard who goes by Dick, co-founded Blum Capital Partners in 1975. Prior to founding Blum Capital, Mr. Blum was with Sutro & Co. for 17 years, holding various positions including director, major stockholder, and member of the Executive Committee. He joined the firm at the age of 23 and became a partner before age 30.

He is also Chairman of Montgomery Street Partners, Blum Capital’s exclusive vehicle to continue its investment strategy in real estate and real estate related assets. He was a co-founder of Newbridge Capital.

To name a few, CB Richard Ellis (as chairman), PAG, Northwest Airlines Corporation, Glenborough Realty Trust, Inc., etc.

Mr. Blum serves on the board of trustees of the following non-profit organizations: The Asian Art Museum Foundation, The Carter Center, Central European University, Glide Foundation, The National Democratic Institute, etc.

#7 He is the Honorary Consul of Nepal

He was made honorary consul of Nepal after founding the American Himalayan Foundation.
