Kelly Pelletz is the lovely wife of newly social entrepreneur, Michael Pelletz. Her hubby a former Uber driver has come up with his own idea of a star-up called, Chariot for Women –a cab service that caters only to women and by women.
Chariot for women its set to launch next week in Boston Massachusetts, and Kelly Pelletz is also a key component in the business. Michael got the idea of launching this service when he used to be a driver for the Mega cab company uber. Kelly’s hubby was prompted to offer a service that women could feel safe using due to one unsafe ride experience and the increasing number of rapes and assaults by Uber drivers. Many passengers have reported feeling threatened and there’s the Kalamazoo incident that turned into a shooting spree killing about 6 people.
All this is what further deterred his wife from becoming Uber driver herself, Kelly a registered nurse, was too scared. Kelly, Michael’s wife is now the president for Chariot for women and has come up with unique ideas to ensure the safety of women in Cabs.The Pelletzs know first hand Uber does not really care about the driver’s identity and doing a background check before hiring them, having had to pay millions in settlements. Michael and Kelly Pelletz have said they will make sure their service does all the necessary background check before hiring their drivers.
According to his LinkedIn, Michael studied Culinary Arts/Chef Training at the Johnson and Wales University, Miami, Florida. He served as the Chief Operating Officer at Raven Products, position he held for 17-years. Since 2012 he has been the President and CEO at Solprox, LLC.
Kelly Pelletz on the other hand, is a Granby, Mass.; native who currently resides with her husband and family in Charlton, Massachusetts. She also goes by Kelly L. Miller Pelletz. However, the couple and their company could face legal trouble. According to experts, a Boston firm told outlets, there’s nothing wrong with advertising particularly to a female customer base. But if a company goes further and refuses to pick up a man, then they could be accused of discrimination.
While billed as a woman-only service, Pelletz added that the service would pick up children under 13 regardless of gender, as well as transwomen. Michael confirmed that transwomen are allowed to drive for the company.
