Tony Cacciotti

Meet Mr. Tony Cacciotti; he is the loving husband of actress Valerie Harper. His amazing wife fought bravely against cancer for many years; sadly on August 30, 2019, Valerie passed away.

In July, her husband Tony, father of his only daughter actress Cristina Cacciotti revealed on Facebook that doctors advised him to put her in hospice care; he refused.

Message from Tony Cacciotti

I have been told by doctors to put Val in Hospice care and I can’t [because of our 40 years of shared commitment to each other] and I won’t because of the amazing good deeds she has graced us with while she’s been here on earth.

We will continue going forward as long as the powers above allow us; I will do my very best in making Val as comfortable as possible.

There are two special ANGELS on this planet masquerading as humans who live and work together, that have made it possible to have all of Val’s needs taken care of.

For those of you who have been in this position, you will totally understand that “it’s hard letting go.” So as long as I’m able and capable, I’ll be where I belong right beside her.

• Mr. Cacciotti born Anthony Cacciotti in New York, on August 12, 1939, married Valerie in New York on April 8, 1987. Prior to him, Valerie married actor Rochard Schaal in December 1964; they had no children and divorced in 1978.

• They welcomed their adopted daughter Cristina (b. 1983) shortly after their nuptials; Cristina like her parents is an actress, she starred as Suzie in That 70’s Show and had a small role in Patrick Scott’s short 2012 film Zoochosis Presents: Hooey.

 

• Tony Cacciotti was an executive producer on the t.v. movie Farrell For The People, also on his wife’s t.v. series Valerie; Golda’ Balcony; more recently on My Mom and the documentary Girl and Banner on The Moon, starring his wife.

• As an actor, Tony Cacciotti played Rotka on the Longest Yard in 1974 alongside Burt Reynolds, Bernard on the t.v series Mannix. He also appeared on The Streets of San Francisco alongside Michael Douglas; played Tony on the Dukes of Hazzard.

• Tony met his wife Valerie on the set of the sitcom The Hogan Family Show, where his wife played Valeri Hogan and Tony was a producer.
